A couple of months ago, my close friend and mentor Richard Lopez, aka DJ Baddmixxrick aka Rick Wyld introduced me to a concept called Krunk Cumbia.
What is Krunk Cumbia you may ask? It’s basically intertwining sounds from Mexican Regional Cumbia with American Uptempo Hip-Hop.
When we began working under the alias, The Mashup Wreckaz, Rick and I decided to come up with different blends of these two genres and modernize them in a way that gave off a new school feel.
After Rick was called to the sky, I decided to dedicate the next 2 months to putting together a mixtape of original sounds that I would produce myself and fuse with vocals from some of our favorite artists that hyped us up whenever we heard them.
